Head Coach: Gary Dunda

In his first four years at the helm for the Geneva men’s soccer program, Gary Dunda has led the Golden Tornadoes to a 48-23-14 overall record. Dunda watched Geneva finish the 2011 campaign at 16-6-3 while finishing second in the PAC conference tournament in just its first year of eligibility. In addition, Dunda helped lead the Golden Tornadoes to the NCCAA national tournament where Geneva finished second in the nation. In 2012 the Golden Tornadoes started the year with an international soccer tour of Spain. Under coach Dunda's direction, the Golden Tornadoes have competed in the postseason conference championship tournament every year since 2011, including two PAC Champion runner-up titles and finished as NCCAA East Regional Finalists. Recently, Gary Dunda was appointed as the sole Division III Men’s Soccer representative to the NCAA Soccer Rules Committee in August of 2013.

A graduate of Messiah College, Dunda was a four year starter on the nationally recognized varsity team from 1993-96. After completing his playing career, Gary Dunda began his collegiate coaching career at Messiah as an assistant coach. Dunda continued to coach as the women’s soccer coach at Missouri Valley and the associate men’s and women’s coach at Ottawa University. Before finding his way to Geneva, Dunda was the head coach at Goucher College in Maryland for ten years where he was able to lead international soccer tours to Spain (2009), England and Scotland (2006). Outside of the collegiate circle, NSCAA National and Advanced Licensed soccer coach Dunda also had the opportunity to be a head coach with the US Youth Olympic Development Program (ODP) for the highly competitive state of Maryland for four years.

While at Geneva College, Dunda has been able to use his undergraduate degree in sport and exercise science from Messiah in 1997 and master’s degree in sports administration from Emporia State University in 2001 as an instructor for the Physical Education Department, Business Department and particularly for the new Sports Management major.

Dunda and his wife, Heather, reside in Patterson Twp. along with their three children Madeline (12), Wil (10) and Luke (2).
